Founder

Founder Jessica Tomolonis is a former teacher and mother of three young children. In her past life before starting a family, she volunteered for AmeriCorps Cape Cod, worked for the MA Audubon, was a proud member of the MA Farm Bureau, and worked on several farms. She holds a Masters in Environmental Conservation Education from NYU. She later taught middle and high school ELA and ESL in Boston Public Schools for eleven years before stepping away to focus more on her kids and write. She now lives in Marshfield, MA with her husband, three children, and one cat, who likes to accompany the family on hikes.

Our Mission

"Adelaide" comes from the Germanic word, Adalheidis, which means "of noble birth."

Every birth is noble, isn't it?

There is a gap today in support for new mothers who want to breastfeed. Most of us do not have a lot of family nearby. And when we do, we are often the first to breastfeed in recent generations.

On top of that, the way our healthcare system is set up, new mothers don't see their doctor until six week after they leave the hospital after giving birth.

So where can we turn?

To each other.

The mission of Adylaed is to fill the current gap in support for new moms who want to breastfeed. Here, you will find moral support, others' experiences, solid information, and the physical products you need to ease your breastfeeding journey - all in one place.

But breastfeeding is just the beginning. If you want to keep that sense of independence and connection with nature, and you're feeling a little anxious about mainstream parenting pressures that seem to pull us away from that, you've come to the right place. Our culture today doesn't make parenting any easier, does it? But we can team up and raise our kids the way we want if we do it together.

Mamas to mamas, we're here for you.
