Our Mission

Adylaed's mission is to fill the gap in breastfeeding support. How? By teaching pregnant moms how to breastfeed.

Why start now?

Lactation consultants help you at the hospital, then - BAM!  You're sent home with your baby and realize this is the first time you've taken care of a newborn...and you don't really know how.

"Adylaed" is derived from the Germanic word, Adalheidis, which means "of noble birth."

Every birth is noble, isn't it?

Then let's start treating every birth that way.

Breastfeeding is natural, but that doesn't mean it's intuitive. There are a lot of specific things we can do to pave the way for successful breastfeeding - but many mothers enter this journey totally unaware.

Adylaed is here to change that.

Founder

Hello! I'm Jessica Tomolonis, mother of three young children. I am currently pursuing my Breastfeeding Counselor Certificate with the Healthy Children Project, Inc., which is based in Harwich, MA.

In my past life before my third baby came along, I taught middle and high school in Boston Public Schools. I live in Marshfield, MA with my husband, the three young hooligans (pictured left), and one cat, who accompanies us on hikes in our woods. I prefer piling kids on my bike to stuffing them into carseats, exploring the beautiful MA South Shore, and teaching my kiddos how to compost.

I started ADYLAED because I was floored by how much more I knew about breastfeeding when my third baby came along. I feel every new mom who wants to breastfeed should go into it knowing she can if she has the right information.

Yes, breastfeeding is natural. But that doesn't mean it comes naturally. When new moms struggle, that's usually because they weren't properly taught. And that should never be a barrier.

Mama to fellow mamas, I can't wait to connect.
